Same Day Service – (Funeral Directors) – Our goal is to provide service as quickly as possible for all your cremation needs. Please note that the Cemetery will always make every attempt to provide same day service WHEN NECESSARY OR REQUESTED at no extra charge, however, we do ask that you be reasonable with your requests for this service.

OVERTIME & ADDITIONAL FEES
The following Overtime charges do not guarantee that the Cemetery will be able to open a grave during these times, please check with Cemetery Office before quoting prices.
Weekdays after 3:00 PM and before 4:00 PM – $350.00
Saturdays (before 11:30 AM) – $300.00
Services must arrive by 11:30 AM or an additional $500.00 will be charged for each additional ½ hour.
Office closes at 12 Noon on Saturdays.
Saturday services scheduled for later than 11:30 a.m. will be charged the $300 plus an additional $500 fee every ½ hour thereafter.
All overtime charges must be paid prior to the service and will be strictly enforced.

(Funeral Directors) – Fee for cancellation after grave is opened may be waived if grave is re-sold and used before the close of business on Saturday of each week.

CEMETERY GATES OPEN EVERYDAY FROM 8:00 am – 4:45 pm
Office Hours:
- 8:30 am – 4:00pm (Monday – Friday)
- 9:00 am – 12:00 pm noon (Saturday – Closed Sunday)
No deceased body will be permitted to any site without a licensed funeral director along with payment, proper paperwork, including burial permit.
The telephone answering machine is for providing general information,
(Funeral Directors) – No funeral orders will be accepted on the answering machine. If you are calling after the end of business on Saturday for a Monday burial, please leave a message stating that you will need to conduct a Monday burial and on Monday morning please call in the funeral order at 8:30 AM.
Arrangements must be made with the cemetery office as soon as possible so that the cemetery can best accommodate you. (Funeral Directors) – 24 hour notice is usually required for services, otherwise, same day service charges will apply. Please contact the office with any special or unusual requests as soon as possible.
Orders for Monday Interment – (Funeral Directors) – If there is a need for a Monday interment after the close of business on Saturday, PLEASE leave a message at the office and contact the office at 8:30 a.m. on Monday to schedule. The cemetery will accommodate you as much as possible with this burial, and will not charge you a same day service fee. However, please remember that we will have to schedule you for the afternoon and that appropriate overtime charges will apply where necessary.
(Funeral Directors) – SATURDAY BURIALS may be scheduled later than 11:30 AM so long as, they are SCHEDULED BY THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON THURSDAY OF THE SAME WEEK. Overtime charges will apply as per the Overtime section.
ALL charges are to be paid prior to service and include fees and deposits required by New Jersey Cemetery Laws.
ALL proper paperwork including any Affidavit and Petition for Payment vouchers must be submitted prior to service.
An authorization must be signed by the original lot/grave owner of their next of kin (blood relative) for any burial. If there is no next of kin, that must be stated on the authorization form, and then only then would we accept another’s signature.
A vault is required in all sections except non-title/multiple burials or sections designated by the cemetery.
Usually two (2) burials and two (2) cremains burials are allowed in one (1) extra deep grave.
Only one (1) upright monument is permitted on any given lot.
Only one (1) upright, slant or flat marker is permitted on a single grave. If there is an existing marker on a particular grave ONLY a government marker will be permitted on that same grave.
All flat and slant markers must be set on a foundation.
Foundations will be installed during the period of April 15th through November 15th each year. The ground must settle before any foundation can be installed.
Any planting that interferes with the installation of the foundation will be removed without any liability to the cemetery.
All upright monuments must have a base; base and dye must be set on a foundation.
All ledgers will require two (2) foundations unless otherwise designated by cemetery personnel.
No bronze markers are permitted; only bronze government markers are permitted. Foundations are required for government markers.
All foundations will be poured by cemetery personnel only, unless individual special needs are required.
Porcelain photos will not be permitted unless a waiver is signed by the family holding the cemetery harmless in the event of damage.
All orders for foundations must be submitted by a monument dealer and approved by cemetery personnel prior to pouring.
Grave location markings must be on all granite markers in ¾ inch lettering and must be legibly engraved on the lower right front of the die. The monument dealer must confirm the lot visited, location of the foundation and the placement of the inscription.
The cemetery is not responsible for any damage to markers or monuments.
Evergreen Cemetery shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by acts of God, thefts, malicious mischief, riots or by the orders of any military or civil authorities/any damage in general.
The planting of trees, shrubs and plants are not permitted unless approved by the cemetery.
No railings or enclosures of any type may be erected upon or around any grave or lot.
The cemetery reserves the right to enter any lot and remove any tree, plant or shrub which in their judgment shall by its roots, branches or otherwise become detrimental to adjacent lots, avenues or paths, or dangerous or inconvenient to pedestrians or which shall become unsightly by reason of decay or any other cause.
The cemetery is not responsible for vases, urns, jardinieres, chairs or settees placed on lots. Any movable articles should be properly marked with the owner’s name and lot number.
No personal checks will be accepted.
